On Wednesday 7th of May, they placed Mawlana’s blessed body inside the very simple burial car. It took off from Lefkosha heading to Lefke. Behind it were, Hag Bahaudin in his Mercedes Jeep and other strong and speedy vehicles. No one was able to keep up with Mawlana’s car. Being inside it, He managed to arrive in Lefke at least 25 minutes before any one else, including the 8 cylinder 4000 cc 4×4 Mercedes. This reminded me when we were in Damascus, years ago, going from Rankos (100 kilometer north of city center), heading to the Omayed mosque for Friday prayer. As always Mawlana was ready to go only half an hour before Jumaa Azzan. Normally the distance requires at least one and a half hour by car. When we entered the car, Mawlana recited,
بسم الله علي قلبي حتي يوروي
بسم الله علي ركبي حتي تقوي
بسم الله علي الارض حتي تطوي
Bism Allah on my heart till it’s satisfied
Bismillah on my knees till they are strong
Bismillah on earth till it’s folded (far distance becomes near).
We entered the mosque on time and latter Mawlana asked me, did you hear what the imam on the Jumaa minbar was reciting as we stepped foot in the mosque? I replied, Yes he was reciting the verse from Quran.
ألا ان أولياء الله لا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون
Allah almighty giving His Devine oath, There is no fear nor sorrow for My the friends of Allah.
Mawlana once said, the sheikh is like the pilot of the airplane, with all mureeds on board it. Were the plane lands, every one on board, first row or cargo their final destination is same. With such speed, power, steadiness, Mawlana, our locomotive, the engine of our train, is taking his followers to Devine destination.
