Today during the car ride with Sheikh Mohamed he noticed by the sea shore, the seagull flying by the car for a long time. They used to fly toward us an keep going in circle around the car when Mawlana was inside the car. He used to say, they are greeting us. When we used to pass by the cow farm, once I said Salam to the animals. Mawlana then said, the animals they greet humans and not the other way around. Mawlana use to feel happy when the migrating birds, swallows, use to return to their nests in his house. He said, these are the chicks that hatched in the same nest last year they went and now found their way back to their exact nest to lay their eggs. The new chicks will grow, migrate, and return next year and so on. The cats were sharing Mawlana’s joy, but for other feeding reasons..! Mawlana mentioned, the cat is the only animals allowed to be so familiar with human being. Once he also read the tradition of the Prophet,
“ حُبُّ الْهِرَّةِ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ “ .
Loving the cat is part of belief.
At that time I didn’t like cats due to my allergy and I prayed to be granted their love, and I was giving Alhamdulilah. Mawlana said, each person carries the character of one of the animals. I hoped for a noble one, but he said, I am like a camel…! He made me imitate it for many times and it use to make him laugh. Unfortunately, Haga Ruqeia mentioned that camels hold grudges for long time..! She also watched out from the window in front of Mawlana’s chair upstairs for a very small bird that appears at the end of winter. She used to call it, my father’s little bird. Mawlana loved an ottoman book called,
The Book of Animals. It’s first chapter was about the loin. He said, there are 100 names for the loin.

Multiple names is a sign of honor, he added. The lion maybe the king of animals but, Mawlana said that the dog of Ahl-AlKahf (The people of the cave), from its love and attachment to them, will be granted its particular paradise. There, it will be able to see them in their paradises. During the car ride suddenly a fully black dog used to appear, Mawlana would adress it and say its from the appointed jinn for patrolling. Also all black cats are same, and Mawlana said, the King pharaoh kept one next to him. At breakfast table Mawlana used to pick up the little bread crumbs from his shirt before standing up. One day he said, the ants complained that we are not even leaving such tiny provision to reach them. Therefore, starting from that day he didn’t pick them and let them to fall down. He also advised non Muslims living in Europe to live in the country side farms amongst animals. He said in our time the arrows of Devine revenge is raining everywhere. If a person is not under the protection of Islam, at least be under the Devine protection specific for animals for they are without sin. Mawlana said the seeds for wheat came down from heaven. Latter Arch Angle Jebreel brought an ox from paradise for Adam a.s to cultivate the land. Mawlana’s horoscope sign is Toros , the one animal descended from heaven, served human beings from beginning of time, gave goodness to earth and never caused any harmed. Mawlana however, he was not happy with modern people acting as servant for their dogs walking them everyday to go out. God bless our master who kept true balance for dealing with every creature as it is meant according to Devine will.
